There are 6 factions in the game - Alliance of Light, League of Shadows, Necropolis, Inferno, Sanctuary and Rebellious Tribes. The heirs can become heroes, adherents of both Magic and the Sword, and each of them leads his own faction. The player controls each of the five children of the griffin dynasty in the main story campaigns.
